Bald Eagle Airfield v1.0.3 & v1.0.1 Now Available!
Bald Eagle Airfield- Myakka Head has been updated for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024!
After some troubleshooting with Asobo, the MSFS 2024 version of Bald Eagle Airfield has been updated to finally fix the broken hangar doors and lights of the triple hangar.
Both issues were initially thought to be a sim bug, and in a way the doors issue still is, but the fact that they work in 2020 is the bug. The doors should not have worked and with the help of Asobo, I was able to narrow it down to a single (useless – in this implementation) tag written in the XML template. This change has also been backported to the 2020 version of the scenery just in case it is patched in the future.
The lights issue ended up being a bad model export (even though everything seemed to be correct). After reworking the export structure in Blender and using the latest version of the 2024 exporter, the issue was resolved.
Alongside these two critical fixes, other various fixes were made for emissives in the 2024 version of the scenery, and I have also adjusted the scale of the runway stripes as they were way too large and did not match the width of the roller, which is what they should have been based on to start with. This change has also been backported to the 2020 version of the scenery.
Marketplace and Vendor Release Status
Both the 2020 and 2024 versions of this scenery have been submitted to Marketplace, as well as ORBX.
